Bayport-Blue Point schools are experiencing an inspiring growth in robotics, as students from elementary through high school take on creative projects and competitions.
Leading the charge, James Wilson Young Middle School’s RoboPhantoms and Brainstormers teams have gained remarkable recognition.
The Brainstormers crafted a child-friendly scuba diving signal guide, boosting underwater safety, while the RoboPhantoms invented "SPOCK," a prototype designed to speed oyster growth and help restore local marine life.
Both teams earned top Long Island rankings and spots in major international competitions.
Bayport-Blue Point High School has now launched the RoboPhantoms #27168 robotics club, where students weekly develop STEM skills and teamwork as they tackle the FIRST Tech Challenge.
District investments are expanding clubs, science programs, and special education, creating a well-rounded educational ecosystem.
Fundraisers and local STEM events further spotlight the students’ technical passion and commitment to community impact.
