Vintage Car Show and Pancake Breakfast Lands in Bayport |
Classic cars, a hearty breakfast and a chance to win a biplane ride at the Bayport Aerodrome on Oct. 11 |

Classic cars and vintage planes will share the spotlight in Bayport this month.
The Bayport Aerodrome Society is hosting Vintage Wings and Wheels, a car show and pancake breakfast, on Sunday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event takes place at the Bayport Aerodrome, 60 Vitamin Drive, one of the South Shore's most unique backdrops for a fall car show.
The show is open to vehicles from the 1980s and older, so expect plenty of chrome, fins and nostalgia lined up along the airfield.
Vehicle registration opens at 9 a.m., and the entry fee is $25.
Drivers who show off their rides also eat for free at the pancake breakfast.
For everyone else, breakfast is $10, a small price for a stack of pancakes with a view of vintage aircraft.
The day also features a raffle for a biplane ride, a rare chance to see Long Island from an open cockpit.
Organizers are promising great cars, great planes and great fun, and the setting alone makes it worth the trip.
The aerodrome is a grass-strip airfield where the society works to keep early aviation history alive, which makes it a natural fit for an event that celebrates classic machines on the ground and in the air.
Whether you are bringing a restored muscle car or just coming to browse, it is an easy way to spend a fall Sunday with family and friends.
