A new clam bar is getting ready to bring fresh life to a well-known waterfront spot in Patchogue, while local drivers faced a rough morning after a crash in East Patchogue. We’re also keeping an eye on health news after researchers found a dangerous bacteria in Long Island waters.

New Clam Bar Taking Over Harbor Crab Spot in Patchogue
Bayman's Clam Bar is set to open at the former Harbor Crab Co. location on Division Street by Memorial Day. New owners Jay Varney and Will Strano, longtime friends with deep roots in the area, plan to refresh the iconic waterfront spot while preserving its character. The menu will feature locally-sourced seafood including whole fried clams, baked clams, oysters, and lobster rolls. The popular outdoor tiki bar will remain. Read full story →
Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Intersection in East Patchogue
Authorities responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Patchogue-Yaphank Road and Andreano Avenue in East Patchogue on April 22 at approximately 8:05 a.m. Emergency crews were on the scene, and drivers were urged to use caution and seek alternate routes. A deadly 'flesh-eating' bacteria known as Vibrio vulnificus has been found in Long Island waters, according to Stony Brook University Professor Christopher Gobler, who spoke at a press conference on the Peconic Riverfront Park in Riverhead this week.
