Big stories and busy days this week. Suffolk lawmakers are weighing a new security camera law, local school board races are heating up, and leaders are pushing for more environmental funding to protect the Long Island Sound. Patchogue Theatre adds big names to its lineup and summer fun is starting to take shape.

Proposed Law Would Require Suffolk Businesses to Turn Over Security Footage to Police
The Suffolk County Legislature is considering a bill that would require businesses with 10 or more employees to turn over security footage within 24 hours to aid police investigations. The proposal comes after a CVS employee was fatally stabbed in Lindenhurst last December, with police accusing the company of delaying footage. Businesses that don't comply would face fines of $1,000 for first offenses and $2,500 for subsequent violations. Read full story →
