NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk has opened a food pantry for patients facing food insecurity, and Bellport's Frank Trotta has been elected chairman of Suffolk Credit Union's board.

 

In sports, Bayport-Blue Point football stretched its win streak to seven, Bellport football dropped to 0-2, and Bellport's Abby Crabtree competed for Hartford's women's golf team.

Suffolk Closes Beach Camping Ahead Of Nor'easter

County Executive Ed Romaine has suspended beachfront camping and outer beach driving at Suffolk parks from Thursday evening through Sunday, with tent camping and campfires banned Friday evening through Sunday evening as a nor'easter approaches. Bus Crash In North Bellport Snarls Traffic

A transit bus collided with another vehicle at Station Road and Montauk Highway in North Bellport around noon Thursday, temporarily tying up traffic. Suffolk police said at least one person was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Read Full Story →

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk has opened a food pantry in its main lobby to help patients facing food insecurity, offering free groceries at discharge to those identified through a Social Determinants of Health questionnaire or care-team referral. The program was developed with Island Harvest and is funded in part by the Rotary Club of Patchogue and other local philanthropy.
