Good morning,

 

 Suffolk police made seven arrests at a Labor Day weekend DWI checkpoint in Patchogue, and State Sen. Dean Murray is pushing a bill to restore bail in cases involving minors. 

 

Two new spots have opened Patchogue: Village Vintage, a theatrical secondhand shop, and The Undertow, a beach-inspired pub. Bellport crowned its Sandcastle Contest winners, Meadow Croft rolls out its fall tour lineup, and the Patchogue Arts Council's new exhibit draws from nature. 7 Drivers Arrested At Patchogue Sobriety Checkpoint

Seven motorists were charged after Suffolk police, sheriff's deputies and State Police screened 465 vehicles at a Labor Day weekend sobriety checkpoint at Waverly Plaza in Patchogue, with three facing DWI charges and four facing drug-impairment charges. Read Full Story →

State Sen. Dean Murray Pushes Bill To Restore Bail For Crimes Involving Minors

State Sen. Dean Murray (R-C, East Patchogue), joined by Assemblyman Joseph DeStefano (R-Medford) and Suffolk DA Ray Tierney, has introduced a bill letting judges set bail again in cases involving children under 18, arguing the state's 2019 bail reforms have left victims unprotected.
