A Patchogue man was found guilty of knifepoint sexual assaults in Long Island. 
He faces up to 50 years in prison.

Residents of Bellport were shocked to find a decapitated baby goat dumped near the L.I.E overpass. The gruesome discovery has left the community disturbed and concerned about animal cruelty in the area.

Suffolk County Police Department is hosting a Women of the SCPD recruitment event called Behind The Badge on March 23, 2026 from 6 to 8 pm at the McGann Conference Center at St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue, giving local women a chance to hear personal stories from officers.

A car overturned on Sunrise Highway in Patchogue causing an injury early Sunday. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the details of the crash were not immediately clear.

The Village of Bellport will hold a public hearing on its tentative budget Monday, March 23 at 5:30 PM at the Bellport Community Center.

• A free Bicycle Rodeo will take place March 28 where kids can practice riding in a mock roadway and learn bicycle safety skills.

• Patchogue Medford Youth & Community Services is hosting its annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the North Patchogue Fire Department with two seatings from 8 to 9:30 AM and 10 to 11:30 AM. Tickets are $20 for adults 18 and up, $10 for kids ages 5 to 17, and free for children under 5.

• Brookhaven Highway Department is hosting a free  Child Safety Seat Check on Thursday, March 26. Appointments are required.
