Good Morning,

 

This week around Patchogue and nearby communities, we’re bringing you a little bit of everything: urgent police updates, inspiring arts news, hometown recognition, and plenty of spring events for families, students, and local residents. From village elections to restaurant week and youth showcases, here’s what to know now across the area.

The Brookhaven Youth Bureau is inviting students in grades 7 through 12 to participate in the 2026 Brookhaven’s Got Talent Student Art Show.

 

This year’s theme, “Everyday Wonders That Make Me Smile,” inspires young artists to explore simple moments of joy through art.

 

Students can submit original photos, paintings, or drawings online—accompanied by a signed parent or guardian consent form.

 

The submission deadline is April 22, 2026.

 

Selected works will be showcased at Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville on April 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with artwork displayed throughout May in the second-floor Galleria.

 

Families and residents are encouraged to attend and celebrate the creativity of Brookhaven’s youth.

  • Patchogue Medford Youth & Community Services is hosting its annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the North Patchogue Fire Department with two seatings from 8 to 9:30 AM and 10 to 11:30 AM. Tickets are $20 for adults 18 and up, $10 for kids ages 5 to 17, and free for children under 5.

  • NYS Senator Dean Murray is reminding local students that his Student Photo Contest is coming to an end, giving kids in grades 9 through 12 one last chance to submit an original photo by April 1.

The Village of Bellport announces a  special election for a new village trustee. 
Residents can vote to fill the vacancy. April 7 is the day

  • Bellport Village Hall will be Closed on Friday, April 3rd. There will be no sanitation pick up.

The Bayport-Blue Point Heritage Association  is hosting its April meeting with a fascinating look at the Roosevelt girls of Meadow Croft.  The presentation will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
