Three Generations of Women Arrested in 7-Year-Old Girl's Death in Bayport |
Three women from the same family are facing serious charges following the death of a 7-year-old girl in Bayport. The child was pronounced dead in December after being taken to the hospital unconscious. An autopsy revealed approximately 90 injuries on her body and determined she died from a massive untreated infection caused by sharp force injuries. Read full story → |
Bayport-Blue Point and South Country School Budgets Rejected by Voters |
Voters in Bayport-Blue Point and South Country (Bellport) school districts rejected proposed budgets that sought to pierce the state tax cap. South Country's proposed 13.45% tax levy increase was overwhelmingly defeated by a 2,747 to 1,105 margin, as the district faces a severe fiscal crisis tied to overspending. Both districts are now weighing whether to present revised budgets for a June 16 revote or move to contingency spending plans. Read full story → |
CoHo Coffee House Expanding into Patchogue Central Square |
The owner of CoHo Coffee House in downtown Patchogue is dramatically expanding the business, transforming a former showroom into an 8,000-square-foot community hub called Patchogue Central Square. The expansion includes a new event venue named 3rd Space, a full commercial kitchen, outdoor courtyard, and conference room. The project is expected to open in late June or early July and aims to become a new gathering anchor on the west side of Main Street. Read full story → |
