Good Morning,

Today’s newsletter covers a lot: a TB testing effort at a local high school, concerns over a proposed apartment complex, and renewed attention on two long-unsolved cases. On a brighter note, Bayport-Blue Point’s new dance team is inspiring the community, and there are plenty of local events to keep on your radar

Trivia Question❓

In the early 20th century, Patchogue was known as the "Gateway to Long Island." Why was it given this nickname?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Bayport-Blue Point High School started a competitive dance team, allowing students to perform as an official athletics team in the school district.

11 girls from different grades created the team, performing routines at football and basketball games.

Coached by Kristen Rang and Bailey Whitney, the dancers practiced genres like jazz and hip-hop, with choreography by Sarah Woolsey.

The team performed outside the district, receiving feedback for future competitions.

They also hosted a dance clinic for elementary schoolers, raising funds for uniforms.

The team's initiative and talent have made them role models in the school community.
