Patchogue Residents Invited to Help Shape $4.5 Million NY Forward Plan Patchogue residents will have a chance to help determine how a $4.5 million state investment could shape the future of the village’s downtown when the first NY Forward public workshop is held Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The Village of Patchogue received $4.5 million through New York State’s NY Forward program, which supports downtown revitalization projects aimed at strengthening local economies, improving public spaces, expanding housing opportunities and preserving community character. Patchogue’s planning process began in June 2026 and is expected to continue into spring 2027.
Potential projects can include streetscape and waterfront improvements, new or renovated public spaces, building redevelopment, housing and mixed-use development, arts and cultural initiatives, and investments in local businesses.
Both public and privately sponsored projects can be considered. A Local Planning Committee, working with consultants and state agencies, will use community feedback to develop a Strategic Investment Plan containing projects recommended for state funding. New York State will ultimately decide which projects receive NY Forward dollars.
Public Workshop #1 will take place Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Patchogue-Medford Library, 54-60 E. Main St. Residents, business and property owners, and other community stakeholders are encouraged to participate and share ideas for downtown Patchogue.
