As the  school year approaches, families across Patchogue, Medford, Bellport, Blue Point and Bayport are already thinking about supply lists and shopping trips. For residents looking for a way to help neighboring families who could use a hand, the Town of Brookhaven has stepped up with its annual INTERFACE Back to School Drive, running now through August 21.

Supervisor Dan Panico announced that the Town's Youth Bureau Division will hold the drive from July 28 through August 21, 2026. The initiative helps ensure students from kindergarten through 12th grade have the supplies they need for a successful school year.

"Students need proper school supplies so they feel prepared and ready to learn," said Supervisor Panico. "I thank the local businesses and residents whose donations make this drive possible."

Councilman Michael Loguercio, Town Board Liaison to the Youth Bureau, echoed that sentiment, noting that having the right materials reduces stress and helps students focus. He praised the Youth Bureau's continued work to make the drive a success.
