Patchogue's St. Patrick's Day Parade Returns March 22 with Grand Marshal Mark Miller

Annual parade kicks off at noon on Main Street, preceded by 'May the Road Rise Up to Meet Ye' run

The green will return to downtown Patchogue on Sunday, March 22, as the village celebrates its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. The beloved community tradition steps off at noon and promises a festive celebration of Irish heritage and local pride.

This year's parade holds special significance as it honors Mark Miller as the 2026 Grand Marshal. Miller, a Patchogue-Medford Hall of Fame inductee, co-owns and operates Dublin Deck and Harbor Crab Co. on the Patchogue River, along with other local businesses.

Honoring a Local Business Leader

"This year's celebration is especially meaningful as we proudly honor Mark Miller, respected local restaurant entrepreneur and longtime supporter of Patchogue, as our 2026 Grand Marshal," the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce announced. "Mark's leadership, community spirit, and dedication to our downtown and riverfront have helped shape the vibrant Patchogue we all know today—making this year's parade one you won't want to miss!"

Miller's selection recognizes years of commitment to Patchogue's growth and revitalization. His restaurants have become fixtures along the waterfront, contributing to the area's transformation into a dining and entertainment destination.

Parade Route and Timing

The procession begins at the intersection of East Main Street and Route 112. Marchers will head west along Main Street, where a viewing stand is typically set up near Havens Avenue.

The route takes participants and spectators through the heart of downtown Patchogue, past shops, restaurants, and the historic Patchogue Theatre. It's the perfect opportunity for families to gather along Main Street and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

The Pre-Parade Run

Before the parade begins, runners and walkers can participate in the "May the Road Rise Up to Meet Ye" two-mile event. This traditional race starts at 11:45 a.m., giving participants a chance to travel through the village just ahead of the parade festivities.

The race has become a popular addition to the day's events, bringing together fitness enthusiasts and parade-goers alike. Registration information is available through Elite Feats, and the race offers a unique way to experience downtown Patchogue before the crowds arrive for the main event.

A Community Tradition

The St. Patrick's Day Parade represents more than just a celebration of Irish heritage. It's a testament to Patchogue's strong sense of community and the village's ability to bring residents together for shared experiences.

The parade is organized jointly by the Greater Patchogue Foundation's Cultural Heritage Committee and the Village of Patchogue Department of Parks and Recreation. This partnership ensures the tradition continues year after year, maintaining the event's community-focused spirit.

Local businesses along the parade route often decorate their storefronts in green and gold, adding to the festive atmosphere. Many restaurants and pubs offer special Irish-themed menus and celebrations throughout the day.

What to Expect

Spectators can expect to see marching bands, local organizations, community groups, and plenty of green. The parade showcases the diversity and spirit of Patchogue, with participants ranging from school groups to veterans organizations.

Families should plan to arrive early to secure good viewing spots along Main Street. The area near the viewing stand typically fills quickly, but the entire parade route offers excellent vantage points.

Planning Your Visit

With the parade starting at noon, downtown Patchogue will be bustling with activity throughout the afternoon. Street parking near the route may be limited, so consider arriving early or using nearby lots.

After the parade, many attendees head to local restaurants and pubs to continue the celebration. It's a great day to explore downtown Patchogue's dining scene and support the local businesses that make the community thrive.

Whether you're Irish by heritage or just Irish for the day, the Patchogue St. Patrick's Day Parade offers a welcoming celebration for all. Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 22, and join the community in honoring both Irish tradition and local pride.
