High school art students in the 3rd Senate District are invited to participate |
High school artists across the 3rd Senate District are invited to capture the meaning of freedom through photography in a regional contest honoring the nation’s founding.
In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Dean Murray is inviting high school art students in the 3rd Senate District to participate in a student photo contest titled Liberty Through the Lens. The competition runs from March 2 through April 1, 2026, and encourages young photographers to explore themes of freedom, liberty, and America’s founding.
Students may submit one original photograph that reflects one of three themes: Hometown Pride, America Through the Decades, or What Freedom Means to You. Submissions must be in JPEG, JPG, or PNG format and are open to students in grades 9 through 12. The deadline to enter is April 1, 2026.
Winners will be announced on April 17, 2026, and prizes are sponsored by the district office. Organizers hope the contest will inspire creativity while prompting students to reflect on the values that have shaped the nation for 250 years.
High school students interested in participating are encouraged to review the official guidelines and submit their work before the deadline.
