A two day gathering at Patchogue Theatre will spotlight how arts partnerships are shaping student success across Long Island, with registration now open to educators, artists, and community leaders.
The Patchogue Arts Council will host PEACE Forward: Arts in Education + Partnerships. A two day conference on April 27 and 28, 2026 at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. The conference will convene educators, artists, policymakers, and cultural organizations to explore how collaboration in the arts strengthens schools and communities.
Grounded in PACâs PEACE Project and its partnership with Eastern Suffolk BOCES Arts in Education, the event highlights models that align creative learning with College, Career, and Civic Readiness and Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education practices. Organizers say the initiative has delivered measurable results over the past three years, embedding 21st century skills and expanding access to inclusive arts programming across Long Island.
Internationally acclaimed artist Edel RodrĂguez will deliver the keynote address, reflecting on the role of creative expression in shaping public life and education. Day One will focus on classroom practice, featuring workshops, panel discussions, case studies, and student performances.
Day Two will examine policy, funding, and long term sustainability, connecting classroom innovation to broader systems that support economic vitality and equitable access.
The PEACE Project currently requires approximately 250,000 dollars annually to sustain and grow its impact. Community members and organizations are encouraged to register, sponsor, or explore scholarship opportunities. The conference runs from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM both days at 71 East Main Street in Patchogue. For registration and details, visit https://www.pacpeaceproject.org/peace-conference. |
