Patchogue Arts Council Announces 2026 Call for Muralist at Patchogue-Medford Library |
The Wall is now accepting submissions for its 2026 temporary mural installation. |
Local artists are invited to apply for a highly visible temporary mural project that will anchor community events through 2027.
The Wall, presented by Patchogue Arts Council in collaboration with the Patchogue-Medford Library, is now accepting submissions for its 2026 temporary mural installation. The selected artist will transform a 15 foot by 45 foot rear exterior wall of the library into a vibrant work of public art that will serve as the backdrop for community gatherings and activities throughout 2026 and 2027. There is no set theme for this yearâs project, and artists are encouraged to review past murals for inspiration.
Applicants must have prior mural experience and submit detailed design plans, a materials list, budget, preparatory drawings, mock ups, and supporting documents. A CV or resume, bio, artist statement, and up to 10 images demonstrating previous mural work are also required. Files must be labeled with the artistâs name and title of work. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
The selected muralist will receive a $2,000 stipend to support planning and execution, donated supplies from a local vendor, professional documentation of the mural process, and a solo satellite exhibit with the Arts Council.
Submissions are due by April 10, 2026. The chosen artist will be notified by email no later than May 1, with installation scheduled between June 1 and June 29. Artists are encouraged to apply and help shape a creative landmark that will bring neighbors together. |
