About LT Michael P. Murphy
Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy was a Navy SEAL who made the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in 2005. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions. The LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum, located in his hometown area, tells the story of Naval Special Warfare from WWII frogmen through today's SEALs, featuring seven exhibition halls, a movie theater, and a SEAL simulation ride.
The museum's mission extends beyond preservationâit's about education. As Murphy himself believed, "education will set you free"âa principle that guides the museum's learning programs, including its classroom serving as a learning center for the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets.
