Local Crayon Drive Drop-Off Locations Announced

Residents across the area still have time to support New York State Senator Dean Murray’s Community Crayon Drive benefiting The Crayon Initiative. Donations of new or used crayons will be accepted through Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Local drop-off locations include the following:

• Senator Murray’s District Office, 90-B West Main Street, Patchogue

• Bayport-Blue Point Public Library, 186 Middle Road, Blue Point

• Center Moriches Free Public Library, 235 Montauk Highway, Center Moriches

• Middle Country Public Library, Centereach Branch, 101 Eastwood Boulevard, Centereach

• Middle Country Public Library, Selden Branch, 575 Middle Country Road, Selden

• Patchogue-Medford Library, Patchogue Branch, 54-60 East Main Street, Patchogue

• Patchogue-Medford Library, Medford Branch, 2151 Horseblock Road, Medford

• South Country Library, 22 Station Road, Bellport

The donated crayons will go to The Crayon Initiative, which recycles crayons and creates new crayons designed for children receiving medical treatment. The finished crayons are distributed to children’s hospitals, helping provide a creative activity and a little extra comfort during hospitalization.

With the collection ending September 1, residents are encouraged to check drawers, classrooms and craft supplies for crayons they can contribute.
