Town of Brookhaven Opens Registration for 18th Annual Great Brookhaven Cleanup |
Join 2000+ volunteers on May 16 to clean up roadways, parks, and waterways across Brookhaven Townâincluding Patchogue, Medford, Blue Point, Bayport, and Bellport |
The Town of Brookhaven is calling on residents to join together for a cause that makes a visible difference across our community.
Supervisor Daniel J. Panico announced that registration is now open for the 18th Annual Great Brookhaven Cleanup, set for Saturday, May 16, 2026.
This year's event continues a long-standing tradition of neighbors coming together to pick up litter, clean roadways, parks, and waterways throughout Brookhaven Townâcovering areas that include Patchogue, Medford, Blue Point, Bayport, and Bellport.
A Proven Track Record of Community Impact
Last year, more than 2000 volunteers showed up to make a difference.
That's 2000 people who chose to spend their Saturday morning cleaning up the places they love.
The Great Brookhaven Cleanup is part of a national movement that mobilizes over 5 million volunteers across more than 20,000 communities nationwide.
It's a simple idea: local action, national impact.
Free Supplies ProvidedâJust Bring Your Time
The Town makes participation easy.
Free gloves, trash bags, and t-shirts will be provided to all volunteers who register.
Supplies can be picked up at the Department of Recycling and Sustainable Materials Management's third-floor office at Town Hall in Farmingville between May 4 and May 15.
Appointments are required and must be scheduled during the online registration process.
Town Hall is located at 1 Independence Hill in Farmingville, open during regular business hours from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Why This Event Matters Locally
Litter isn't just unsightlyâit affects water quality, wildlife, and the overall appeal of our neighborhoods.
When we keep our streets, parks, and shorelines clean, we're protecting the environment and making our community more welcoming for everyone.
This event also brings people together in a way that few activities do.
Families, students, civic groups, and local businesses all work side by side to improve the place they call home.
It's a visible reminder that small actions add up to something bigger.
