Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Host First-Ever 'Tough Cookie' 5K Run & Family Fun Walk in Bayport |
Inaugural event at Camp Edey brings together runners, families, and community supporters for fitness, fun, and fundraising |
The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County are gearing up for their inaugural "Tough Cookie" 5K Run & Family Fun Walk, set to take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Camp Edey in Bayport. This rain-or-shine event promises to bring together runners, families, Girl Scouts, and community supporters for a morning of fitness, fun, and fundraising.
The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with a competitive 5K race, followed by a 1-mile untimed Family Fun Walk at 11 a.m. Throughout the morning, attendees can enjoy Family Fun Day activities including games, crafts, music, yoga, face painting, and more.
"This event is about bringing families and the community together while supporting opportunities that help girls build courage, confidence and character," said Tammy Severino, President & CEO of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. "Whether you're running the 5K, participating in the family walk or simply coming out to enjoy the activities, everyone can play a role in creating experiences that empower girls, open doors to new opportunities and help them discover their full potential."
Proceeds from the event will support Girl Scouts of Suffolk County programs, including leadership development, STEM education, entrepreneurship opportunities, scholarships, outdoor adventure experiences, and camp programming for girls throughout Suffolk County.
