Gateway Playhouse Sets Winter "Funny Girl" Production, Casting Underway |
Casting is underway for a January run of the Barbra Streisand classic at the historic Bellport theater |

The Gateway Playhouse in Bellport is gearing up for a winter production of "Funny Girl," the Jule Styne and Bob Merrill musical that brought Barbra Streisand to Broadway stardom in 1964, with performances set to run January 5 through January 22, 2027.
Larry Raben will direct, with musical direction from Andrew Haile Austin and choreography by Debbie Roshe. Casting is underway now, led by casting director Holly Buczek of HDB Casting, with the pivotal role of Fanny Brice, along with Nick Arnstein and a full vaudeville ensemble, still to be filled. The production will include on-property housing and transportation for cast and crew, a detail organizers say is meant to draw professional theater talent from beyond Long Island to the historic Bellport venue.
Long Islanders interested in tickets can watch the Gateway Playhouse's website for on-sale dates as the winter season approaches.
