Beautification Committee prepares to host its annual Celebrate Pi Shabbat event. |
Residents are gearing up for a warm and welcoming community gathering as the Beautification Committee prepares to host its annual Celebrate Pi Shabbat event. The celebration creatively blends the spirit of Shabbat with the playful theme of Pi Day, offering attendees an evening centered around comfort food, connection, and shared joy. The committee plans to serve classic favorites like shepherds pie, chicken pot pie, and a variety of dessert pies, creating a meal that ties together the eventâs numerical inspiration with culinary delight.
This yearâs Pi Shabbat is also part of the nationwide Shabbat Across America initiative, which invites Jewish communities throughout the country to participate in a unified Shabbat experience. Organizers say the evening is meant to strengthen bonds both locally and nationally by bringing people together around tradition and a shared meal. The event echoes the familiar sentiment that while many have preserved Shabbat over generations, Shabbat itself has played an important role in maintaining community continuity and identity.
Community members are encouraged to join the celebration on Erev Pi Day, Friday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. A minimum donation of 36 dollars is requested, and attendees are asked to RSVP by March 5 by calling 631 475 1882 or emailing tbepatchogue@gmail.com. Those interested in taking part in a warm, inclusive evening of food and tradition are invited to reserve their place early. |
