Veterans services and dozens of organizations gather at Town Hall in Farmingville on Thursday |

Veterans and their families will find dozens of organizations under one roof Thursday evening at Brookhaven Town Hall.
The Third Annual Veterans Resource Fair runs Thursday, October 15, from 4 to 7 PM.
It takes place in the second-floor auditorium at Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville.
The Town’s Division of Veterans Services, part of the Department of General Services, is hosting the event with the Suffolk County Veterans Services Agency.
The goal is to put veterans face to face with the people who can explain benefits, care, and support.
Supervisor Daniel J. Panico says the fair links veterans and their families with essential programs and services.
He also thanked veterans for the service and sacrifice that continue to guide the community.
Councilman Michael Loguercio, the Town Board liaison to Veteran Services, echoed that gratitude.
He said the fair gives veterans and their families a chance to speak directly with organizations about their needs.
Those organizations span a wide range of help.
Veterans groups on the list include VFW Posts 400 and 8300, Catholic War Veterans Post 1897, and the Brookhaven Town and Suffolk County veteran services offices.
Government and public resources include the Northport VA Medical Center, Calverton National Cemetery, and the Long Island State Veterans Home.
Health and wellness providers include Northwell Health, NYU Langone Health, Stony Brook Cancer Center, and Mather Hospital’s caregivers center.
Peer support will be represented by the Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Support Project, along with East End Hospice.
Questions about legal, housing, or money matters will have answers there as well.
Legal Services of Long Island, Lending to Heroes, Suffolk Credit Union, and the Home for Heroes program are all registered to take part.
Cornell Cooperative Extension will bring diabetes education and energy programs.
Other participants include PSEG Long Island, Paws of War, and the Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk.
This marks the third year the Town has held the fair.
For veterans who have never met these groups in one place, the evening offers an easy first step.
Organizations interested in taking part, and anyone seeking more information, can call the Town’s Department of General Services at 631-451-6331.
