Patchogue Arts Council Brings Four New CHARM Murals to Long Island, Including One on East Main Street |

The Patchogue Arts Council (PAC) and the Museum of Contemporary Art Long Island (MoCA L.I.) announced four new large-scale public art projects across Suffolk and Nassau counties, including a mural on East Main Street in Patchogue. The murals are part of the 2026 Cultivating Havens for the Arts through Regional Murals (CHARM) Initiative, administered by the New York State Council on the Arts with support from the Office of Governor Kathy Hochul. Governor Hochul announced the second year of the program on Sept. 4. This year, 12 regional community partners are directing the creation of 40 works of public art across more than 30 counties statewide. The Four 2026 Murals NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Patchogue. Artist Jonathan Horowitz created a mural on the east side of the building at 196 East Main St. in Patchogue. A ribbon cutting is planned for Friday, Oct. 16. Seaford Public Library. Artist Tess Parker created a mural at the library at 2234 Jackson Ave. in Seaford. A ribbon cutting is planned for Thursday, Oct. 15. Library Board of Trustees Vice President Peter J. Ruffner said the colorful mural "will not only embellish the Seaford Library, but it will brighten the entire Verity Plaza in downtown Seaford." Station Yards, The French Workshop. Artist Jenna Morello created a mural at The French Workshop at Station Yards, 9 Hawkins Ave. in Ronkonkoma. Station Yards parking garage. Artist Lula Goce, an international mural artist with roots on Long Island, created a work at the garage at 6 Union Ave. in Ronkonkoma. TRITEC Senior Vice President Chris Kelly said the mural celebrates local flora and fauna along with pieces of Ronkonkoma's history, including the train and the Long Island-built F-14 Tomcat flown by Captain Dale "Snort" Snodgrass, who grew up in Lake Ronkonkoma. A ribbon cutting for both Station Yards murals is planned for Monday, Oct. 12. Building on Patchogue's 2025 Projects PAC also took part in the first year of CHARM in 2025, when it facilitated three projects in the Village of Patchogue: a mural at the Patchogue-Medford Library by Rafael Algarin, a mural at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts by Andrey Kravtsov (KEY DETAIL), and Michael Krasowitz's transformation of the pillars at Artspace Patchogue Lofts, the entrance to PAC and MoCA L.I. and PLAZA Cinema. "Patchogue has seen firsthand how public art can change the way people experience a community," said Mayor Paul Pontieri. "I am very proud that the Patchogue Arts Council is now taking the experience and partnerships it has developed here and bringing that work to communities across Long Island." Beth Giacummo, executive director of PAC and MoCA L.I., thanked the 2026 partners and said the organization's work "has extended far beyond the geography of our name" over its 18 years. Mural Week Celebrations The four murals will be celebrated as part of New York State's Mural Week, Oct. 11 to 17. Official images of the completed murals will be released in coordination with the week.
