Bayport-Blue Point Scholar-Athlete Kailey Bruckner Excels On and Off the Field |
Three-sport varsity athlete earns scholarship to Towson University while maintaining 96 GPA |
Kailey Bruckner is the kind of student-athlete that makes Bayport-Blue Point High School proud.
A four-year varsity athlete in three different sports, Bruckner has built an impressive resume that extends far beyond the playing field. She competes at the varsity level in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, demonstrating a level of dedication and time management that few high school students can match.
While many athletes specialize in one sport, Bruckner has thrived across all three. In soccer, she earned All-Division honors and helped lead the Phantoms to the county finals this season. On the basketball court, she was named All-League and guided her team to the county playoffs last month.
But it is lacrosse where Bruckner truly shines. The sport has earned her an athletic scholarship to Towson University, where she will continue her career at the collegiate level. An All-State player, Bruckner has already captured two state championships during her time at Bayport-Blue Point.
Her achievements are not limited to athletics. Bruckner maintains a 96 unweighted GPA, proving that academic excellence and athletic success can go hand in hand. She is also an accomplished musician, playing the alto saxophone in multiple school bands including the jazz band.
Her artistic talents extend beyond music. Bruckner is a skilled visual artist whose work has been displayed in both the SEABBS and Lions Club art contests.
Somehow, she still finds time to give back to her community. Bruckner serves as the student representative on the board of education, giving her a voice in district decision-making. She also works as a lifeguard at Ocean Beach, ensuring the safety of swimmers during the summer months.
Bruckner represents the best of what Bayport-Blue Point has to offer, a student who excels in athletics, academics, and the arts while remaining actively engaged in her community. |
