Bellport Village is looking for its next big name in food and hospitality.

Officials have put out a request for interest from restaurant, catering and event operators for a building at the Bellport Country Club.

The Village-owned facility covers roughly 20,000 square feet across two stories and is expected to be available for lease in mid-2027.

Interested parties now have until Friday, December 4, 2026, after the Village pushed back its original November 3 deadline.

The setting is hard to beat, with views across the golf course toward the Great South Bay and Fire Island.

The first floor holds three event rooms that can be used separately or combined, a large commercial kitchen, a bridal suite, a patio and a garden used for weddings.

Peter's on the Green, a seasonal restaurant serving mainly breakfast and lunch, shares that floor and typically runs from mid-April to early December.

Upstairs, about 4,000 square feet of space features a bar, its own service kitchen and a balcony over the course.

Village estimates put total capacity near 617 guests, including about 280 in the main catering hall, though those numbers remain subject to confirmation.

The 98-acre course, designed by Seth Raynor, hosts roughly 12 to 15 tournaments a year, a steady source of food, beverage and catering business.

The Village is keeping an open mind, welcoming everything from a full-service restaurant to a wedding and banquet operation, or a mix of both.

This is not a bid process.

The Village describes the request as exploratory, and respondents are asked only for a short description of their experience, their vision for the property, space needs, planned improvements and initial questions.

Lease terms, rent and a selection process have not been announced.

Questions can go to Mayor Maureen Veitch at Village Hall, 29 Bellport Lane, or by phone at 631-286-0327.

The Village says it may use responses to shape a later formal process, but it is not obligated to move forward with a lease.
