Patchogue-Medford Businesses Invited to Display Student Art for Celebrate America 250 |
Local businesses can showcase student artwork as part of the nationwide 250th anniversary celebration |
The Patchogue-Medford community is coming together to mark a historic milestone in a uniquely local way. As part of the nationwide Celebrate America 250 initiative, local businesses are being invited to display artwork created by Patchogue-Medford students in their storefronts and offices throughout the summer.
A Community-Wide Art Showcase
The program, organized by the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Patchogue-Medford School District, aims to spotlight young artistic talent while bringing patriotic spirit to the village's business corridors. Selected student artwork will be professionally framed and displayed in participating businesses from July through September.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to see their work celebrated by the entire community," said Lori Cannetti, interim superintendent of the Patchogue-Medford School District. "It's about connecting our young people with local businesses and creating something beautiful together."
How Businesses Can Participate
Local business owners interested in hosting student artwork can contact the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce at silvana@patchogue.com. The Chamber will coordinate artwork placement and provide all necessary display materials at no cost to participating businesses.
Artwork will be rotated periodically, giving multiple students the chance to have their creations featured throughout the summer months. Each piece will include the student's name, grade, and school, along with information about the Celebrate America 250 initiative.
Celebrating 250 Years of American History
The Celebrate America 250 initiative marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Communities across the nation are organizing events and programs to commemorate this historic occasion, with Patchogue-Medford putting its own creative spin on the celebration.
The student art program is just one of several local events planned for the summer. Additional programming will include historical walking tours, community picnics, and educational workshops highlighting Patchogue's rich heritage.
