Senator Dean Murray is set to host an Operation Safe Child ID event at the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Joining him are Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo, Congressman Andrew Garbarino, and Legislator Dominick Thorne, in partnership with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office.
This initiative provides parents with identification cards containing their child's updated information, aiding authorities in emergencies.
Parents and children can drop in at any time during the event to receive important safety information and to create Safe Child ID cards for parents to keep for their records.
In addition to the Operation Safe Child ID event, the Bayport-Blue Point community is actively engaged in various initiatives.
Recently, the BayportâBlue Point Varsity Cheerleaders organized a Pink Out Game, uniting athletes, youth cheerleaders, school staff, and families to support the fight against breast cancer.
The event successfully raised awareness and funds for the Suffolk County Breast Cancer Coalition, showcasing the community's commitment to important causes.
Furthermore, the Bayport-Blue Point School District hosted its third annual Community & Cocoa 5K Fun Run/Walk, bringing together students, families, staff, and community members to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
These events highlight the community's dedication to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all residents.
